Jake grew up among the scenic New England countryside of western Connecticut surrounded by woods and wildlife. A born wanderer he has been lucky enough to call many places home and now he happily hangs his hat in Austin during his internship with dwg. He developed his love for the natural world exploring the woods behind his house, catching critters, and climbing trees to get a new perspective. It was in these experiences that he came to understand the importance of conservation, the therapy of nature, and the value of the outdoors firsthand. While the heat and cacti of Texas are a far throw from the forest and cold that he grew up with he revels in the value and variety of a new experience.
He is fascinated with the intersection of art and science for both its cultural and utilitarian products. It is this background that brought him to landscape design. Allowing him to create art with an impact and utilize his passions to create works that are as functional as they are beautiful. While he is just beginning, he intends to build a career strengthening both urban and natural systems, bringing the two together for their mutual benefit.
In his free time he is an avid photographer and editor. He enjoys playing around with drones and computers. Loves hiking, biking, and occasionally getting lost in the woods.
