dwg. Turns 15! A Legacy of Transformation, A Future of Possibilities

Fifteen years ago, dwg. was founded with a bold vision: to redefine the role of landscape architecture in creating cities that are more sustainable, equitable, and inspiring. What began as an ambitious idea has evolved into a practice dedicated to challenging conventions, reimagining public space, and designing meaningful places where people and nature flourish together.

Our work has always been about pushing boundaries. At Springdale Green, we transformed a remediated brownfield into a thriving workplace campus and ecological oasis, proving urban development can regenerate the land rather than deplete it. Fareground redefined Austin’s urban core, converting an underutilized plaza into a dynamic, community-centered gathering space. St. John Encampment Commons turned parking lots into parks, honoring the deep cultural history of a neighborhood by creating spaces where history and community life intersect meaningfully.

We’ve embraced the evolution of workplaces, crafting immersive landscapes at Music Lane that enrich daily interactions and foster connections with nature. Through initiatives like Pocket Patios, we've shown how even small interventions can spark significant, lasting change. Our ongoing work at Rainey Trailhead Park is laying the foundation for a more connected and accessible urban waterfront in Austin.

Opening our London office represents a significant milestone, reflecting not just the expansion of our practice but our commitment to meaningful, intentional urban design globally. By exchanging ideas across continents, we deepen our impact and welcome new challenges in urbanism and landscape architecture.

As we look to the future, we recognize that the work is far from done. Cities continue to face urgent challenges — climate resilience, social equity, and the need for more meaningful public spaces. The next 15 years will be defined by our ability to design with intention, collaborate with communities, and create places that are as functional as they are inspiring.

We’re deeply grateful to our clients, collaborators, and communities for joining us on this journey. Together, we'll continue to design change — one space, one project, and one city at a time. Here’s to the next 15 years!
