Embracing multimodal and pedestrian activity at East Riverside Gateway
Located at the intersection of East Riverside Drive and East Ben White Boulevard in Southeast Austin, the 22-acre mixed-use master plan for East Riverside Gateway recently highlighted in a Towers.net article, "would bring roughly 2 million square feet of mixed-use development..., creating a seven-building complex containing more than 1,000 residential units and three office towers connected by a walkable streetscape of ground-level retail.”
The landscape and urban design is central to the design framework for East Riverside Gateway. The plan promotes walkability and pedestrian experience, celebrates its location on the future light rail Blue Line, and highlights the 3.5 acre park as a central amenity that bridges the new development with the adjacent neighborhood. The large community park along with the multiple unique on-structure landscape terraces—including pool decks, lush oases, and community gathering spaces—are designed to support an engaging and active lifestyle.
