Springdale Green Featured in The Architect’s Newspaper

Springdale Green has been profiled in The Architect’s Newspaper as part of its September landscape architecture focus. The article highlights how dwg., in collaboration with Gensler, transformed a 30-acre former brownfield in East Austin into a biodiverse campus designed for resilience, recreation, and community. The campus has achieved SITES Gold certification, and Springdale Green Building 2 is certified LEED Gold (Core & Shell v4, May 2025).
The story features the project’s elevated 0.62-mile boardwalk, restored prairie and wetland ecologies, the planting of more than 4,000 new trees, and a 650,000-gallon cistern that provides irrigation while helping reduce flooding beyond the site.
Springdale Green demonstrates how thoughtful landscape design can reprogram land for resilience while creating places for people to connect, work, and thrive.
