Paradox Cove
AUSTIN, TEXAS
The private owner of an exceptional contemporary art collection desired a home that reflected not only their personal appreciation of art, but also a deep commitment to the role it plays in their lives. As designers who believe that art is integral to the human experience, we have been transforming this private garden into a world-class museum, with the potential to open as a public garden in the future.
Throughout the 56-acre site, the dwg. team choreographed a sequence of outdoor sculpture rooms that feature each artwork within its unique context. Emphasis was placed on reducing water use, capturing and cleaning on-site stormwater, and creating more diverse and productive habitat. Working responsibly with the land was crucial for the sustained future of the site as an eminent museum with the potential to educate visitors on the beauty of healthy landscape systems.
