Sean’s passions lie at the intersection of nature and science. Inspired by wide open landscapes as well as lush urban forests, he believes that urban spaces should enhance nature and the human experience, rather than push it away. Growing up in the San Bernardino National Forest solidified Sean’s love for all thing’s nature, but it was his globetrotting adventures (15 + countries) that showed him the importance public space and the need to bring it back into the American urban landscape.
Prior to obtaining his Master’s in landscape architecture at UT Austin, Sean spent a decade working for the State of Texas as an environmental policy developer and planner. This gave Sean a deep understanding of working through complex problems and working across different disciplines. Sean hopes to bring these skills to the dwg. team through construction documentation, planting development and seeing projects built out in the field.
In his free time, you can find Sean camping in the Texas Hill Country, getting his hands dirty in his garden, and enjoying the fruits of Austin’s thriving food scene.
