Kyle grew up surrounded by the tallgrass prairies of Kansas, where his interest in landscape architecture grew out of his combined appreciation for engineering, art, and ecology. After earning a BLA at Kansas State University’s College of Architecture, he practiced landscape architecture in Houston before joining dwg. in Austin.

Always committed to finding practical solutions for realizing big ideas, Kyle oversees the design detailing and documentation of the studio. His technical expertise, quality management, and mentorship of the staff throughout the design and construction process helps create high-quality, enduring landscapes. Drawn to the challenges and complexities of urban projects, his specialty is on-structure landscapes, where cross-disciplinary collaboration provides opportunities for additional expertise and thorough problem solving.

When he’s not working, you will most likely find him on a trail run around Austin. Kyle also enjoys brewing beer and riding his bike, but never at the same time.
