Mateus Rosa is a landscape and urban designer with more than 10 years of professional experience across South and North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. His work is grounded in a research-based approach to design and spans a broad range of scales and typologies, including urban master planning, campus planning, public landscapes, transportation infrastructure, and regional strategies.

Originally from Brazil, Mateus grew up in a community embedded within Rio de Janeiro’s Atlantic Rainforest. This experience shaped his understanding of landscape not only as an ecological and spatial system but also as a social and political environment informed by questions of access, conservation, identity, and everyday life.

Mateus holds a bachelor's degree in Architecture and Urban Design from PUC-Rio and a master's degree in Landscape and Urban Design from ETH Zurich. His interests focus on the relationships between landscape, culture, ecology, and sociobiodiversity, with particular attention to how research can inform locally grounded and environmentally responsive design practices.
